Another episode of AEW Dynamite rolled into Orlando for the Jan. 21 installment. While it was not promoted as a major show, the night still featured several meaningful developments, including early teases for the next AEW World Championship program and clarity on who Kris Statlander will defend her newly won AEW Women’s Championship against.

The episode was headlined by a singles match between Swerve Strickland and Kevin Knight, pitting two of the roster’s most talented babyfaces against one another. With MJF watching closely, and multiple No. 1 contenders circling his championship, there was plenty at stake when it came to the future of the AEW World title picture.

So, what went down on Dynamite? Let’s take a look.

AEW Dynamite Results (Jan. 21, 2026)

  • Brody King came out to challenge MJF to an AEW World Championship match following last week’s post-match attack on Bandido. MJF said a match won’t happen until King defeats elite talent. Expect King to receive a title opportunity at some point, potentially on an upcoming episode of Dynamite, with Revolution still some time away.
  • Singles Match: Samoa Joe def. Speedball Mike Bailey by pinfall following interference from Hook and Katsuyori Shibata. The match also marked the first appearance of The Opps since Powerhouse Hobbs’ reported departure to WWE.
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuta def. Hechicero, Lance Archer and Rocky Romero by pinfall. Claudio Castagnoli and Pac interfered near the end of the match. Afterward, Moxley told Don Callis, who was at ringside on commentary, that Kazuchika Okada knows where to find him.
  • Thekla called out Kris Statlander for an AEW Women’s World Championship match next week. Julia Hart also issued a challenge to Willow Nightingale for a TBS Championship match.
  • Tag Team Match: FTR def. Jordan Oliver and Alec Price by pinfall. Prior to the match, Stokley Hathaway called out Mark Davis and Jake Doyle ahead of their AEW World Tag Team Championship match against FTR.
  • Kris Statlander accepted Thekla’s challenge and also issued a challenge of her own. Willow Nightingale likewise accepted Julia Hart’s challenge to defend the AEW TBS Championship on Collision, with Harley Cameron stating she will be at ringside to support Nightingale.
  • Singles Match: Kenny Omega def. Josh Alexander by pinfall, with MJF watching the match backstage. Afterward, Omega took the microphone and said he has not felt this good in years, adding that no one in the Don Callis Family is good enough to beat him.
  • Tag Team Match: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford def. Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa by pinfall.
  • Singles Match: Swerve Strickland def. Kevin Knight by pinfall as MJF watched from a suite.

Inside Upexi’s SOL play: staking yield and locked token deals

The post Inside Upexi’s SOL play: staking yield and locked token deals appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Upexi is the largest public company holding Solana tokens and uses a SOL strategy to build its holdings and generate additional revenue through staking. In an interview with crypto.news, Upexi CEO Allan Marshall explains why the company executed a large equity private placement to build a crypto treasury, citing MicroStrategy’s playbook and a more accommodating U.S. policy backdrop. Summary Upexi is the largest public holder of Solana, using equity raises to build a SOL treasury and earn staking yield. Upexi CEO Allan Marshall spoke with crypto.news in an interview. Corporate strategy focuses on accretive issuances, staking, and discounted locked SOL purchases, not venture investing. Upexi markets itself as a “new institutional gateway to Solana’s (SOL) speed, scale, and rapidly growing ecosystem.” But it isn’t alone, as it joins a handful of rival companies also building Solana treasuries, while dozens of other public entities are focusing on other coins. Speaking to crypto.news, Marshall discusses strategy and market perception. He notes that Upexi is focused on accretive capital raises, staking, and discounted, locked SOL purchases rather than venture investing. He also discusses how the company measures progress through an “adjusted SOL per share” metric designed to remove timing and leverage effects. We also discuss the company’s risk management strategies, which include a buy-and-hold approach, no hedging, disciplined use of leverage, and custody with qualified providers. The entire interview transcript is below: crypto.news: Upexi is now the largest corporate holder of Solana with over 2 million SOL in treasury. Why did you make such a dramatic shift now? Was there something specific that happened in the past few months that gave you the confidence to commit so heavily to a crypto treasury at this time? Allan Marshall: Upexi did the first large-scale equity private placement to create an altcoin treasury, and there were…
