WisdomTree Deploys $116B Asset Manager’s Tokenized Funds on Solana (SOL)

WisdomTree launches full suite of regulated tokenized funds on Solana (SOL), giving institutions and retail investors onchain access to money market, equity, and fixed income products.

WisdomTree, the publicly-traded asset manager with $116 billion under management, has deployed its complete suite of regulated tokenized funds on Solana (SOL)—marking one of the largest traditional finance commitments to the network’s real-world asset infrastructure.

The expansion, announced January 28, makes WisdomTree’s money market, equity, fixed income, alternatives, and asset allocation funds available to both institutional and retail investors through the firm’s WisdomTree Connect and WisdomTree Prime platforms.

What’s Actually Trading

Institutional clients can now mint tokenized fund positions directly on Solana, hold them in custody, and deploy them within DeFi applications. The firm’s stablecoin conversion service accepts USDC and PYUSD for subscriptions and redemptions—a notable departure from the fiat-only rails most traditional funds require.

Retail investors get a different entry point. WisdomTree Prime users can on-ramp USDC from Solana wallets directly into the app, access yield-generating tokenized funds, and off-ramp holdings back to self-custody. The entire flow stays onchain.

These aren’t crypto-native products. WisdomTree’s tokenized funds are registered ’40 Act funds—the same regulatory wrapper as traditional mutual funds—that happen to settle on blockchain rails. The underlying assets remain conventional: Treasuries, equities, corporate bonds. What changes is the plumbing: instant settlement, 24/7 trading windows, and programmable transfers.

The Solana Angle

WisdomTree cited transaction speed and cost as the deciding factors for Solana integration. The network already hosts over $1 billion in tokenized real-world assets, according to the announcement.

SOL traded at $125.65 on the news, up 1.12% over 24 hours.

The move positions Solana as a serious contender for institutional tokenization—territory Ethereum has dominated. WisdomTree claims to offer the largest collection of tokenized funds available to institutions, and choosing Solana over established alternatives signals confidence in the network’s enterprise readiness.

What This Means for Traders

For Solana ecosystem participants, WisdomTree’s funds represent potential DeFi collateral with regulatory blessing. Institutional-grade money market funds as DeFi building blocks could unlock new yield strategies and lending markets.

The broader signal matters too. WisdomTree isn’t experimenting—they’re deploying production infrastructure for a $116 billion operation. Other asset managers watching this rollout will have a template to follow.

Whether retail demand materializes depends on WisdomTree Prime’s user experience competing with native DeFi yields. But for institutions seeking compliant onchain exposure to traditional assets, the friction just dropped considerably.

The post Disney Pockets $2.2 Billion For Filming Outside America appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Disney has made $2.2 billion from filming productions like ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in the U.K. ©Marvel Studios 2018 Disney has been handed $2.2 billion by the government of the United Kingdom over the past 15 years in return for filming movies and streaming shows in the country according to analysis of more than 400 company filings Disney is believed to be the biggest single beneficiary of the Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) in the U.K. which gives studios a cash reimbursement of up to 25.5% of the money they spend there. The generous fiscal incentives have attracted all of the major Hollywood studios to the U.K. and the country has reeled in the returns from it. Data from the British Film Institute (BFI) shows that foreign studios contributed around 87% of the $2.2 billion (£1.6 billion) spent on making films in the U.K. last year. It is a 7.6% increase on the sum spent in 2019 and is in stark contrast to the picture in the United States. According to permit issuing office FilmLA, the number of on-location shooting days in Los Angeles fell 35.7% from 2019 to 2024 making it the second-least productive year since 1995 aside from 2020 when it was the height of the pandemic. The outlook hasn’t improved since then with FilmLA’s latest data showing that between April and June this year there was a 6.2% drop in shooting days on the same period a year ago. It followed a 22.4% decline in the first quarter with FilmLA noting that “each drop reflected the impact of global production cutbacks and California’s ongoing loss of work to rival territories.” The one-two punch of the pandemic followed by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes put Hollywood on the ropes just as the U.K. began drafting a plan to improve its fiscal incentives…
