News Brief
PANews reported on January 27 that Kite, an AI payment public chain, has revealed its mainnet roadmap designed to establish a native trust and payment infrastructure for intelligent agents. This initiative addresses critical challenges in trust, authorization, and payments as AI agents evolve from merely answering queries to executing real-world tasks. We believe the roadmap's emphasis on native x402 protocol compatibility is particularly noteworthy, as it facilitates standardized payment intentions and settlement through pay-per-call models with comprehensive end-to-end auditing. Moreover, the system's capabilities are structured around six fundamental pillars: agent trust via KitePass identity anchor and programmable governance; agent settlement incorporating stablecoin integration and Facilitator components; developer infrastructure providing zero-fee RPC alongside documentation and monitoring tools; network operation through external validators and VaaS with progressive decentralization; AgenticFi encompassing DEX, LSD, cross-chain bridging, and deposit channels; plus an ecosystem growth engine featuring incentive systems and community events.Overall, the mainnet deployment will proceed gradually over one to two years, carefully balancing security, auditability, and scalability to foster a sustainable smart agent economy. Kite previously secured $33 million in funding led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, with strategic support from Coinbase Ventures.

PANews reported on January 27 that Kite, an AI payment public chain, released its mainnet roadmap, aiming to create a native trust and payment technology stack for intelligent agents, and solve the bottlenecks of trust, authorization, and payment in the transformation of AI agents from "answering questions" to "performing tasks".

The roadmap clearly states that the x402 protocol is natively compatible, supporting standardized payment intentions and settlement support with pay-per-call and end-to-end auditing. At the same time, the system capabilities are broken down into six independent pillars: agent trust (KitePass identity anchor + programmable governance), agent settlement (stablecoin native + Facilitator component), agent developer infrastructure (zero-fee RPC + documentation + observable tools), agent network operation (external validators + VaaS + progressive decentralization), AgenticFi (DEX + LSD + cross-chain bridging + deposit and withdrawal channels), and agent ecosystem growth engine (incentive system + ecosystem events).

Kite stated that the mainnet will be launched gradually, delivered in stages over one to two years, prioritizing a balance between security, auditability, and ecosystem scalability, ultimately forming a sustainable smart agent economy system.

It is reported that Kite previously completed a $33 million funding round led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, and received strategic investment from Coinbase Ventures.
