Megadeth Replaces Itself At No. 1

Megadeth sees its self-titled album and expanded digital edition occupy the top two spots on the iTunes Top Albums chart, with both taking turns at No. 1. In a few days, Megadeth’s self-titled album will debut on charts all around the world, and the project is expected to score a lofty starting point. The band divulged before Megadeth arrived that it would be the group’s last, and a quick look at the iTunes charts throughout the past week or so proves that there is a huge interest in hearing from the hard rockers one more time. For days, Megadeth has been leading the charge on the digital storefront, but now it steps aside to make room for an eerily similar full-length.

Megadeth Swaps No. 1 Spot with… Megadeth

Megadeth replaces itself atop the iTunes Top Albums chart, which details the bestselling full-lengths and EPs on the platform. The original Megadeth backtracks from No. 1 to No. 2, while the expanded digital album version climbs to the summit. As of the time of writing, Megadeth fills the highest two spaces on the iTunes Top Albums list, meaning the group all but certainly claims the two bestselling releases in the United States.

Megadeth’s Tracklist and Additional Songs

Megadeth arrived on Friday (January 23) and immediately rocketed to No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in America. The first edition shared includes 10 songs along with a bonus track, and that additional cut sees Megadeth putting its own spin on Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning.”

The more recently-shared expanded digital edition of the group’s self-titled affair includes one additional cut, “Nobody’s Hero.” Two other versions of Megadeth were also offered for sale. One, only available in Japan, features an instrumental of “The Last Note,” the song that closes out Megadeth. One take only offered at Target also features the track “Bloodlust,” closing out the project.

Megadeth’s Billboard Expectations

When Billboard refreshes its rankings in a few days, Megadeth will almost certainly launch within the top 10 on multiple rosters. That roundup will include the Billboard 200, the all-encompassing tally of the most-consumed albums and EPs in America, as well as the Top Album Sales chart and several style-specific tallies.

Megadeth is hoping to score its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with what will almost certainly be its final outing. The group has previously missed out on ruling by just one space, as Countdown to Extinction peaked at No. 2 back in the summer of 1992. Megadeth has thus far racked up eight top 10s on the most important albums roster in the country.

Megadeth’s History on the Sales and Rock Charts

The group has previously run the show on the Top Album Sales chart, where The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead! opened in first place and dominated for one period. Two other studio efforts, Dystopia and Countdown to Extinction, missed the mark by just one run.

The metal outfit’s self-titled set also stands a great shot at commanding several genre-specific tallies, such as the Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Rock and Alternative Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts – all spaces where Megadeth has ended up on top in the past.

Megadeth’s Singles From the Band’s Final Era

Just days before Megadeth became available in full, the group shared a fourth and perhaps final single titled “Puppet Parade.” That tune did not perform well enough in its first few days of availability to reach the Billboard charts, but it could join previous drops “Tipping Point,” “I Don’t Care,” and “Let There Be Shred” in becoming a quick bestseller in America, if only on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list. All the singles pushed from Megadeth have earned short stays on that tally, and Megadeth may return in short order as fans recognize the group’s goodbye.

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…
