Trump will 'draw down 700' DHS officers in Minneapolis: Tom Homan

Border czar Tom Homan revealed that President Donald Trump was withdrawing some ICE and Border Patrol agents from Minneapolis after at least two U.S. citizens died at their hands.

In a speech on Wednesday, the border czar cited "unprecedented collaboration" with local officials.

"I have announced, effective immediately," Homan said, "we will draw down 700 people effective today. 700 law enforcement personnel."

There were previously around 3,000 ICE and CBP officers in the city.

Despite drawing down Department of Homeland Security officers, Homan insisted that Trump was committed to mass deportations.

"Let me be clear, President Trump fully intends to achieve mass deportations during this administration, and immigration enforcement actions will continue every day throughout this country," he remarked. "President Trump made a promise, and we have not directed otherwise."
