TLDR

  • Magic Eden will close its Bitcoin and EVM NFT marketplaces in early March 2026.
  • The company will move its multi-chain wallet to export-only mode by mid-March 2026.
  • Magic Eden will fully discontinue its multi-chain wallet services in early April 2026.
  • Trading and support for Solana-based NFTs and assets will continue without interruption.
  • The company urged users to withdraw Bitcoin and EVM assets before services end.

Magic Eden will close its Bitcoin and EVM trading platforms in early March 2026. The company will also discontinue support for its multi-chain wallet in stages through early April. However, it will continue operating its Solana marketplace without interruption.

Magic Eden to shut Bitcoin marketplace and wallet features

Magic Eden will begin shutting its Bitcoin marketplace during the first week of March 2026. The company will also move its multi-chain wallet into export-only mode by mid-March. It will then fully cease wallet services in early April.

The platform expanded into Bitcoin Ordinals after building a strong base on Solana. It aimed to capture rising demand for NFT trading across different networks. However, the company will now concentrate its resources on its original blockchain focus.

Magic Eden urged users to withdraw Bitcoin-based assets before support ends. It stated that users must move holdings to avoid losing access after closure. The company said it will provide instructions to assist with withdrawals.

A company spokesperson said, “We are streamlining operations to focus on our core Solana marketplace.” The spokesperson added that the transition timeline will give users enough time to act. The firm confirmed it will share reminders before each shutdown phase.

Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche EVM markets to close

Magic Eden will also close trading on Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche. These networks operate under the Ethereum Virtual Machine framework. The shutdown will follow the same early March schedule as Bitcoin.

The company entered the EVM markets to broaden its NFT reach. It launched support for Ethereum collections and later added Polygon and Avalanche assets. However, it will now end those services and redirect engineering efforts.

Magic Eden confirmed that EVM users must withdraw assets before early April. The multi-chain wallet will allow exports only until full termination. After that date, the wallet will stop functioning entirely.

A spokesperson said, “Solana remains the foundation of our marketplace strategy.” The company stressed that Solana-based NFTs and assets will remain fully supported. It also confirmed that trading activity on Solana will continue as usual.

Magic Eden originally built its reputation on Solana’s high-throughput network. Most of its historical trading volume came from Solana collections. The company said it will now focus on product updates within that ecosystem.

The shutdown schedule will begin in the first week of March 2026. Wallet export-only mode will start by mid-March 2026. Full wallet closure will occur in early April 2026.
