Realbet.io has announced that it is the first platform in the world to allow both humans and autonomous AI agents to play on its online casino using real capital.

Announcing the news with an in-depth article on X, Realbet explained how AI agents integrate into the platform, how the site benefits from their 24/7 activity, and the ways in which the native $REAL token will capture value from this new development.

AI agents are already gambling

Realbet is not, nor is it claiming to be, the first site to allow AI agents to gamble. AI agents have been actively trading on prediction markets like Polymarket for years.

Realbet uses stats from Polymarket to back up their argument about the sheer volume potential these agents bring. According to Realbet’s data, while bots make up only 3.7% of total users on Polymarket, they generate a staggering 37.4% of the platform’s total volume. Realbet is now aiming to capture that same autonomous, high-volume energy and bring it to their online casino.

What games can AI agents play?

Currently, the only game that is live and operational as of March 2026 for AI agents is Texas Hold’em. The agents have access to a variety of 6-player Texas Hold’em games running across seven different stake tiers. These range from a risk-free “Demo” mode all the way up to “High Roller” tables with $25/$50 blinds.

While Realbet mentions that they are the first platform to allow AI agents to “compete in casino, poker, or sports betting environments with real money,” they do not make it clear exactly when AI agents will be able to bet on sports or play other traditional casino games like blackjack.

However, if an AI agent can successfully navigate a complex, skill-based game like poker, it is easy to imagine them playing other table games, slots, and sports betting without much trouble.

Realbet is leaning heavily into the entertainment value of this setup, hosting a “Live AI-vs-AI spectator table.” This feature allows users to watch four different AI foundation models, such as GPT-4 and Claude, compete against each other at the same poker table for real USDC.

Why is this good for Realbet?

So, AI agents can play poker. Maybe they win, or maybe they lose. But why does this benefit Realbet?

The answer lies in platform volume. The house edge at online casinos means the platform takes a cut of the action. In Realbet’s case, they take a 5% rake on every pot. If AI agents decide that Realbet is their home for casino games and sports betting, the platform benefits from relentless, 24/7 wagering volume.

To the co-owner of Realbet, UFC legend Conor McGregor, whether that rake is generated by an AI agent pulling an all-nighter or a human player won’t make a difference on the balance sheet at the end of the month.

The $REAL Token

This volume directly benefits the platform’s native token, $REAL. Realbet operates on a “community ownership model,” meaning that token holders receive a share of the platform’s success.

If AI agents begin gambling at scale on the platform, $REAL token holders stand to benefit directly from the increased volume.

According to Realbet, the token offers the following specific utilities:

  • Revenue share: By staking $REAL tokens and participating in governance voting, holders can share in 50% of the casino’s Net Gaming Revenue (NGR).
  • Rakeback: Users with staked tokens can earn up to +10% rakeback when playing on the platform.

The $REAL token pre-sale went live on March 17 and runs until March 20, aiming to raise 1,555,552 USDC. It is currently sitting at a somewhat disappointing 3,757 USDC raised with 2 days to go.

Concerns

While the reaction on X was largely positive, the announcement does raise a few questions.

If an online casino is directing its resources toward accommodating AI agents, like building out APIs for different LLMs, will their focus shift away from the human player?

Will there be less support for humans, or fewer games designed for human preference?

This may be a distant concern for Realbet as they just started to test these waters, but it makes you wonder: who are the gambling sites of the future really being built for?

Final thoughts

People are finding increasingly novel ways to use AI, and online gambling is no exception. Not long ago, we reported on the AI Dealer Blackjack at BetHog, a game that allows you to play, interact, and learn from an AI agent serving as the dealer. Today, we are talking about AI agents gambling themselves, with zero human involvement. The world is getting stranger by the minute, and crypto casinos like Realbet are happily along for the ride.

UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach

The post UK crypto holders brace for FCA’s expanded regulatory reach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. British crypto holders may soon face a very different landscape as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) moves to expand its regulatory reach in the industry. A new consultation paper outlines how the watchdog intends to apply its rulebook to crypto firms, shaping everything from asset safeguarding to trading platform operation. According to the financial regulator, these proposals would translate into clearer protections for retail investors and stricter oversight of crypto firms. UK FCA plans Until now, UK crypto users mostly encountered the FCA through rules on promotions and anti-money laundering checks. The consultation paper goes much further. It proposes direct oversight of stablecoin issuers, custodians, and crypto-asset trading platforms (CATPs). For investors, that means the wallets, exchanges, and coins they rely on could soon be subject to the same governance and resilience standards as traditional financial institutions. The regulator has also clarified that firms need official authorization before serving customers. This condition should, in theory, reduce the risk of sudden platform failures or unclear accountability. David Geale, the FCA’s executive director of payments and digital finance, said the proposals are designed to strike a balance between innovation and protection. He explained: “We want to develop a sustainable and competitive crypto sector – balancing innovation, market integrity and trust.” Geale noted that while the rules will not eliminate investment risks, they will create consistent standards, helping consumers understand what to expect from registered firms. Why does this matter for crypto holders? The UK regulatory framework shift would provide safer custody of assets, better disclosure of risks, and clearer recourse if something goes wrong. However, the regulator was also frank in its submission, arguing that no rulebook can eliminate the volatility or inherent risks of holding digital assets. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that when consumers choose to invest, they do…
