Las peticiones de subsidio por desempleo en Estados Unidos alcanzaron la semana pasada un total de 216,000 solicitudes, lo que supone una bajada de 6,000 personas respecto de la cifra anterior, según revelan los datos publicados este miércoles por el Departamento de Trabajo.

Los perceptores de esta prestación sumaron en la semana finalizada el 15 de noviembre un total de 1,960 millones, equivalente a un avance de 7,000 beneficiarios frente a los 1,953 millones de los siete días previos. En el mismo periodo comparable de 2024 se situaron en los 1,892 millones.

Los principales incrementos se dieron en Kentucky (589), Minnesota (351), Wisconsin (211), Delaware (199) y Texas (99). Por contra, las caídas más pronunciadas se registraron en Míchigan (-5.290), Nueva Jersey (-2.381), California (-2.287), Illinois (-962) y Georgia (-857).

Las tasas más elevadas de desempleo respaldado por ayudas fueron las de Nueva Jersey (2,3%); Washington (2.2%); distrito de Columbia y Massachusetts (1.9%); California y Puerto Rico (1.8%); y Alaska, Connecticut, Nevada, Oregón y Rhode Island (1.7%).
