CEXs are platforms managed by centralized organizations that facilitate the trading of cryptocurrencies, offering high liquidity and user-friendly fiat on-ramps. Leaders like Binance, OKX, and Coinbase serve as the primary gateways for institutional and retail entry. DEX Perp Volume Ripped Past $1 Trillion for Second Month as Spot Traders Quietly Fled to CEX

DEX Perp Volume Ripped Past $1 Trillion for Second Month as Spot Traders Quietly Fled to CEX

The post DEX Perp Volume Ripped Past $1 Trillion for Second Month as Spot Traders Quietly Fled to CEX appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Insights On-chain perpetual futures volume on decentralized exchanges remained above $1 trillion in November 2025, marking the second consecutive month of trillion-dollar perp trading. The DEX-to-CEX ratio for perpetual contracts reached an all-time high of 18.4% in November and climbed to 22.2% by December 5. Spot market activity showed the opposite trend, with the proportion of volume traded on DEX platforms dropping from 17.4% to 11.4%. On-chain trading volume across spot and perpetual markets totaled $1.71 trillion in November 2025, according to the latest blockchain news data. The figure represented an 11% decline from October, which had registered an all-time high for combined on-chain volume. Despite the month-over-month drop, the resilience of perpetual contracts stood out against a sharper retreat in on-chain spot trading activity. Perpetual futures accounted for $1.3 trillion of November’s total volume, declining just 4% from the previous month. Spot markets, by contrast, generated approximately $400 billion in volume, a 29% drop that underscored a pronounced shift in trader preferences. The divergence between the two segments highlighted a clear bifurcation in how market participants approached decentralized and centralized venues across different product types. Perp DEX volume YTD | Source: DefiLlama Lighter Overtakes Hyperliquid in Monthly Perp Volume For the first time since August 2024, Hyperliquid did not lead the monthly aggregate for perpetual contract volume on decentralized platforms. According to DefiLlama data, Lighter recorded $290.6 billion in perp volume during November, surpassing Hyperliquid’s $237.9 billion. Aster also moved ahead of Hyperliquid with $248.9 billion in trading activity, marking a rotation among the leading crypto perp DEX venues. The shift reflected both Hyperliquid’s growing competition and the maturation of alternative platforms that had scaled their infrastructure and liquidity pools throughout 2025. Additionally, Lighter and Aster benefited from aggressive incentive campaigns, as the Hyperliquid airdrop reset expectations and…

Crypto Projects Bitcoin Hyper vs IPO Genie: discover which top presale token packs stronger 2026 utility, audited security and real-world deal access in one token presale. At the same time, almost $1.8 billion of token unlocks are scheduled this month, so capital is hunting safer narratives, not pure memes.  So the real question is simple. In the next cycle, do you want to own blockspace or deal flow? Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) wants to be the fast, scalable Bitcoin Layer 2 that upgrades BTC’s throughput and fees. IPO Genie ($IPO) is a single top presale token 2025 that turns into access to $3+ trillion private markets and future tokenized real-world assets. Analysts increasingly agree on one thing. 7 Crypto Exchanges With the Lowest Spot Fees

7 Crypto Exchanges With the Lowest Spot Fees

The post 7 Crypto Exchanges With the Lowest Spot Fees appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. There’s a number of variables to examine when choosing a crypto exchange on which to trade, ranging from the assets it lists to the quality of its mobile app. While these characteristics are important, arguably the most critical factor of all – as well as being the easiest to quantitatively measure – is trading fees. Different exchanges charge different fees for spot trading, which start at a base rate before reducing further for high volume traders. While the fees may seem miniscule, at a few fractions of a percent, over the course of hundreds of trades these can quickly add up. Depending on your trading volume, picking an exchange that offers the lowest fees can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars a year. It’s one of the most important crypto trading decisions you’ll ever make. To help you make that decision, the following seven exchanges offer some of the most competitive spot fees in the industry. They also score highly for the other attributes that go into a good exchange, from user experience to security. Not only will they save you money with every trade you make, but they’ll keep your assets safe while offering access to all the cryptocurrencies you could ever wish for. BitMEX BitMEX may have started out as a derivatives exchange, which remains a cornerstone of its business, but its spot exchange is equally accomplished – and its fees are very attractive. Maker and taker fees start at just 0.05%, which place it near the top of the list, with the potential for these to drop further according to your trading volume or the amount of BMEX you’ve staked. Five VIP levels offer increasingly lower fees as you level up the rankings, with the highest tier – OG – earning a −0.0150% rebate. If you’re…

Analyst Pushes Back as New Tether Solvency Fears Resurface

Analyst Pushes Back as New Tether Solvency Fears Resurface

The post Analyst Pushes Back as New Tether Solvency Fears Resurface appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Concerns about stablecoin issuer Tether’s financial stability resurfaced this week after BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes warned the company could face serious trouble if the value of its reserve assets were to fall. But CoinShares’ head of research, James Butterfill, pushed back on those claims. In a Dec. 5 market update, Butterfill said fears over Tether’s solvency “look misplaced.” He pointed to Tether’s latest attestation, which reports $181 billion in reserves against roughly $174.45 billion in liabilities, leaving a surplus of nearly $6.8 billion. “Although stablecoin risks should never be dismissed outright, the current data do not indicate systemic vulnerability,” Butterfill wrote. Tether remains one of the most profitable companies in the sector, generating $10 billion in the first three quarters of the year — an unusually high figure on a per-employee basis. Related: Arthur Hayes tells Zcash holders to withdraw from CEXs and ‘shield’ assets The latest source of Tether anxiety While speculation about Tether’s financial health is hardly new — media outlets have probed its reserves and asset backing for years — the latest round of solvency worries appears to stem from Arthur Hayes.  The BitMEX co-founder said last week that Tether was “in the early innings of running a massive interest-rate trade,” arguing that a 30% drop in its Bitcoin (BTC) and gold holdings would “wipe out their equity” and leave its USDt (USDT) stablecoin technically “insolvent.” Both assets make up a substantial portion of Tether’s reserves, with the company increasing its gold exposure in recent years. Source: Arthur Hayes Tether is facing criticism from more than just Hayes. CEO Paolo Ardoino recently pushed back on S&P Global’s downgrade of USDt’s ability to defend its US dollar peg, dismissing the move as “Tether FUD” — shorthand for fear, uncertainty, and doubt — and citing the company’s third-quarter attestation…

Top 10 Exchanges for Buying and Trading Meme Coins (2025)

The post Top 10 Exchanges for Buying and Trading Meme Coins (2025) appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Meme coins started as a joke with the creation of Dogecoin back in 2013. Today, meme coins have grown massively and became an important niche in the crypto space. But how can you start trading meme coins, and which exchanges best fit your needs? This guide will help you select the best crypto exchange for meme coin trading. Why Meme Coin Exchanges Matter Explosive Growth of Meme Coins in 2025 Meme coins have seen explosive growth in 2025. The total market cap of meme coins has been moving between $60 billion and $90 billion, with a market dominance of 5% to 7% of the total crypto market cap. This growth has been driven by popular launchpads like Pump.fun, Jupiter, and other initiatives launched by exchanges like Binance, OKX, and others. Moreover, the endorsement from public figures like Elon Musk helped introduce meme coins to the masses. Dogecoin inspired Musk to create the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after joining President Trump in curbing U.S. government spending. The number of deployed meme coins on launchpads like Pump.fun is in the tens of millions. The meme coin space is a revenue gusher for exchanges and dApps, bringing billions of dollars in fees. Importance of Liquidity and Speed for Meme Coin Traders Deep liquidity and speed are important for meme coin traders. Deep liquidity facilitates buying and selling large volumes of meme coins without affecting the price or experiencing slippage. Speed, on the other hand, is important to catch opportunities when there is a social media trend or market sentiment change. It’s essential for traders to act fast and lock in profits. Centralized vs Decentralized Access — Which Fits You? Meme coins are listed on a variety of decentralized and centralized exchanges. Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) are the playground for newly launched meme coins.…
